I had to let the little nike chick go. She was doing nothing to help! Insults never heal anyone! I couldn't stand the pessimism! Doc says a few more months until I can run again. I am going in for a second opinion, but... (sob)
Oh, did I mention that I lost my job? Okay, no job and no running. Um.... what on earth am I going to do while the kids are in school. Eat. Someone please call me and stop me from eating that pan of brownies!

So sorry for your loss. Loss of job. Loss of favorite form of exercise. Life sucks. This too shall pass.
Brownies only taste good the first 1/2. The whole pan is just plain burying your sorrows. Don't bury your sorrows - blog about it!
That's a bummer... but stay possitive, it will help you heal faster!! Find the possitive, like at least you still have two legs and you know you will run again some day! You just have to find a new thing to accomplish in your spare time for the next few months.
Shelly, so sorry about the job....what are they thinking?
And the running...have you tried yoga? I haven't practiced regularly lately but I used to. Ashtanga yoga is a real workout and is recommended for runners. I have a book if you'd like to borrow it. But doing a class is much more motivating! There's a great studio in Riverwoods but it's pricey and sort of a drive. I know that the Omega karate studio has yoga every morning....during school time (which is GREAT for you, not so much for me!).
Also, sorry for not rsvping. I meant to. saturday is Scott's birthday and we already have plans. Is Brian's birthday on the 3rd? That'd be fun, if they both had the same one!
It sounds like you need your VT to bring you some toffee. It is so hard when life is turned upside down by these unexpected changes. I second Sarah on the YOGA when I practice I am happy...just as soon as this baby comes.....haha...keep smiling, you do it so well!
